I’d love to introduce you to the newest member of our family… Eleanor Grace.
She is 2 and a half months old now and is such a good baby!! We are so very blessed to have her.
I don’t know about you, but I have a to do list a mile and a half long everyday. I tend to try and keep the list in my head but sometimes I have to write an actual list to stay on track. More often than not I’m constantly moving from one chore to the next. When I take a break to play with the kids or hold the baby, my mind tends to wander to the piles of laundry and the muffin crumbs on the floor, the dirty table with orange peels on it from when Danika demanded to open her orange herself.
It almost feels like a magnetic pull, dragging me away from spending quality time with my kids. While I’m playing blocks with Danika or Holding Eleanor, I feel the need to cut it short and get up and do all the things on my to do list.
But you know what ? The to do list can wait. The overflowing never-ending laundry can wait. The mess from lunch and piles of toys on the floor can wait. Because these sweet children wont stay little for long.
“Let me love you a little more, before you’re not little anymore.”
It goes by so fast and I don’t want to focus on the laundry and the cleaning more than I focus on them. Before I know it they will be grown and they wont want to play blocks with me anymore. They wont want to sit on my lap for long.
So slow down, and enjoy every minute of the stage you’re in with your kids too. Play a little longer, let the dishes sit in the sink and the laundry go unfolded because no one tells you that the hardest part of motherhood is when your kids grow up.
